OpenAI might go bankrupt next year because itās losing a lot of money. They think they will lose $5 billion and spend $7 billion this year just to keep their AI services like ChatGPT running.
OpenAI only makes about $3.5 billion, but their costs are much higher. This big difference in money coming in and going out makes people wonder if OpenAI can keep going in the tough AI market.
Some experts are also worried about how useful these AI tools really are. Only about one in three companies thinks they are getting their moneyās worth from these AI services, which makes it hard for businesses to want to spend a lot on them.
Dario Amodei, who worked on making AI safe and strong at OpenAI, has left to join another AI company called Anthropic.
Paul Christiano, one of the people who started Anthropic and used to work at OpenAI, is now back at Anthropic after working at OpenAI for a while.
Chris Olah, who was a scientist at OpenAI, also moved to Anthropic.
These important people leaving, especially Amodei who was really focused on AI safety, is a big loss for OpenAI as they try to keep making AI better and safer.
The Friend AI Necklace features a sleek design and offers text-based conversations, proactive insights, and task management, all while prioritizing user privacy through local data storage and encryption.
Developed by Avi Schiffmann, the project embraces an open-source philosophy, encouraging community participation with paid bounties for contributors and collaboration through platforms like GitHub and Discord.

The actorsā union called SAG-AFTRA is striking against video game companies. They stopped talking because they couldnāt agree on new rules to protect actors who do voice and motion work from being replaced by AI.
The strike affects 160,000 union members who canāt start new video game jobs, and itās causing problems for games that are already being made. This includes games from big and small companies.
The video game companies only wanted to protect voice actors that you can recognize in games made with AI. But the union, SAG-AFTRA, said this isnāt fair because it leaves out many other performers like those who do motion capture and stunts.
Noam Shazeer and Daniel De Freitas, who started Character.AI, are going back to work at Google. They made a deal that lets Google use some of Character.AIās technology but doesnāt stop Character.AI from using it too. Shazeer will work with a team at Google called DeepMind.
This deal means Google can use Character.AIās technology for making smart AI that understands language, and it also helps Character.AI get more money to grow and make new AI products.
Shazeer helped write a very important study in 2017 called āAttention is All You Need.ā This study introduced a new way to help computers understand language, which is used a lot today in AI systems.
Made it to the end? Awesome! Letās keep in touch on Twitter.
