OpenAI says it’ll release o3 after all, delays GPT-5 - LINK

OpenAI is pushing back GPT-5 so they can launch two smaller models first—o3 and o4-mini—in the coming weeks. CEO Sam Altman says this helps improve GPT-5 even more.

They want GPT-5 to include better performance and smarter model switching based on what the user needs. That takes time to get right.

The delay also helps OpenAI handle infrastructure stress, since more users are flooding in. GPT-5 is now expected to drop in a few months.
